Home Infusion Program
Home Infusion assists patients and families with the delivery of high tech treatment at home. The Home Infusion Program can help patients and their families learn the techniques for the delivery of antibiotic therapy, chemotherapy infusions, hyperalimenation, enternal feedings, pain medication infusions and hydration therapy.
The Home Infusion Program nurse is responsible for the delivery of equipment, medications and supplies to the patient who is receiving infusions at home. The nurse is also responsible for inventory management of the necessary supplies and medications for the duration of the treatment. The nurse networks with the receiving Home Health Agency to meet the educational needs necessary to care for the patients. The nurse is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A Home Infusion Team composed of Home Infusion Program nurses, a pharmacist, a dietitian and a social worker review all patient care plans to determine if the needs are being met.
The Home Infusion Program is licensed in the state of Nebraska.
The Good Samaritan Health Systems' Home Infusion Program serves the central part of the state.
