Our physical therapists work with patients who have or are recovering from musculoskeletal disorders, neurological dysfunctions, and injuries or illnesses that impair function. Physical therapy focuses on improving skills such as getting out of bed, walking safely with crutches or a walker, moving specific joints and strengthening specific muscles. The goal of physical therapy is to reduce pain and increase function.
Physical therapy treatment may include stretching, strengthening, muscle re-education, balance training, coordination training and functional training. Our physical therapists teach patients home exercise programs so they can continue to improve once treatment is complete.
