Carotid Ultrasound

Using ultrasound, this test produces an image of the carotid artery, which runs through your neck on each side.  This artery supplies blood to your brain.  This test looks at the rate of blood flow and is used to detect hardening and narrowing diseases of the artery as well as any plaque that may be present.

• Preparation:  Wear a shirt that allows easy access to your neck   
• Test Duration: This test will take about an hour
