A tilt table test is a simple and informative test that can help identify the causes of fainting. You will be positioned on a bed with three straps to support you if you faint. Your EKG and blood pressure will be monitored throughout the test to watch for any changes. A nurse with also start an IV incase medication is needed. The bed will be raised to an 80-degree angle and you will be asked to stand quiet and still. You will be monitored until symptoms happen or up to 45 if they do not. At the end of the test the bed will be laid back down and you will be monitored for an additional 5 minutes.
