Good Samaritan Heart Center's Non-invasive Cardiovascular (NICV) Department offers outreach services to thirty-two surrounding communities. Each community has specific needs; therefore, services are tailored to meet the needs of the community. The services include cardiac and vascular sonography, stress testing, EKG analysis and storage, Holter monitoring, and Event monitoring.
The majority of the travel is via the Heart Center outreach vans; however, a flight program was implemented in May of 2003. The single and double engine flights are employed for the very distant clinics, allowing the sonographers as well as the cardiologist significant time savings and added safety.
The Non-invasive Cardiovascular Team provides independent sonography to the outreach communities, offering regularly scheduled visits to various sites, as well as visits on an as needed basis. Physician-dependent clinical visits are a significant element of the outreach commitment as well. The Good Samaritan Heart Center cardiologists provide cardiology clinics at various sites. The NICV staff accompanies the cardiologist, and performs the necessary exams, on site, during the scheduled clinic.
The Heart Center at Good Samaritan Hospital offers comprehensive cardiac healthcare, close to home. The outreach program allows the patient to receive initial visits and follow-up visits, while supporting his or her local healthcare facility and providers. The Good Samaritan mission focuses on the healthy community. The Good Samaritan Heart Center is continually reaching out to the individuals in the community, providing excellence in cardiovascular care.
