I Can Cope
This is a four-session educational program co-sponsored by the Good Samaritan Hospital Cancer Center and the American Cancer Society. Participants receive information on cancer, cancer treatment and managing treatment side effects. In addition to this, the emotional, physical and social aspects of cancer are explored. Each session is lead by health care professionals. I Can Cope is also offered through telehealth to rural sites upon request.

Cancer Survivors Day
National Cancer Survivors Day is an annual event held the first Sunday in June. This event is held to honor cancer survivors. A cancer survivor is defined as anyone living with a history of cancer-from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life. United Ostomy Group
This support group is composed of individuals who have intestinal or urinary stomas. The group meets the first Sunday of each month. Programs are designed for informational, social and psychosocial support. For more information contact the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses at 308-865-7048.
Reach to Recovery
Reach to Recovery is a one-to-one visitation program for women with breast cancer. Visits are made by women who have a history of breast cancer and have been trained through the American Cancer Society to offer support and help women meet the physical and cosmetic needs related to the disease and its treatment. Breast Cancer Support Group
The Breast Cancer Support Group was formed to offer therapeutic support to women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. The group was designed to offer educational programs related to breast cancer and to provide a group to meet the emotional needs of the women. This group meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Cancer Center at Good Samaritan Hospital. Look Good / Feel Better
Look Good / Feel Better was founded in 1989 by The Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association Foundation, a charitable organization supported by the cosmetic industry's trade association, in partnership with the American Cancer Society and the National Cosmetology Association. These three partners support the program through funding, training of volunteers and free educational materials and cosmetics. Look Good / Feel Better meets the third Monday of each month at 10 a.m. in the Conference Room at the Cancer Center. Registration is required. Please call 1-800-277-4306 or 865-7985 to register. Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
Good Samaritan Cancer Center collaborates with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to bring education and support programs to people with leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma. These informative and supportive programs are offered statewide through telehealth. Although the speakers may be in Omaha, patients have the opportunity to listen and interact with other participants in Omaha, Lincoln, Grand Island, Kearney, North Platte and Scottsbluff. Community Programming and Screening Programs
The Cancer Center offers various community programming and screening programs throughout the year. Examples of these programs include: Colorectal Screening and Awareness Activities in March and Breast Cancer Awareness Programs in October.
