Good Samaritan Hospital Radiation Oncology has provided comfort and care to cancer patients and their families since 1982, when we established a newly constructed Cancer Treatment Center. We made several milestone renovations to the Cancer Center in 1994. In 2004, a highly comprehensive and modern Cancer Treatment Center was constructed including all-new treatment equipment.
In 2007, the Cancer Center expanded once more, enabling space for a new Varian Trilogy linear accelerator that provides Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), respiratory gating, and Stereotactic Radiosurgery/Radiotherapy (SRS/SRT). Radiation therapy (or radiotherapy) provides treatment for cancer and other diseases using ionizing radiation. This radiation can be delivered in different forms through external beam radiotherapy or internal radiotherapy.
