Good Samaritan Hospital and the Cancer Center understand that uncontrolled pain can affect your quality of life in many different ways. About one-third of patients being treated for cancer may experience pain, and each patient's pain is unique. Nurses and physicians will ask you about pain with each visit. Pain can be managed effectively in most patients with cancer. An understanding of the cause and type of pain you are experiencing is significant to finding the most effective treatment. Cancer Center staff will work with you and your other healthcare providers as part of a team to develop a plan for pain management.
