Atrial Fibrillation & Atrial Flutter

Atrial fibrillation is the most common arrhythmia or abnormal heart beat of the heart.  It is also the most common sustained arrhythmia, meaning it usually does not go away without treatment.  Atrial fibrillation affects more than 2 million Americans, but is also common worldwide.  It can affect people of any age but is more common in the older individuals, with pre-existing heart disease or risk factors.
